Mount Untersberg

From the village of St. Leonhard down below, you can reach the summit of the Untersberg mountain at 1850 meters via a pleasant cable car ride. From this vantage point, you'll enjoy a lovely panorama of the Salzburg basin, the Berchtesgaden region and, on clear days, the lakes of this alpine region, including the Königssee lake in Bavaria.

You can also reach the top of the Untersberg via various marked hiking paths, such as the Dopplersteig, the Reitsteig, and by way of the ice caves. Especially beautiful are the paths along the Untersberg plateau. If you are not a seasoned hiker, the trails along the base of the Untersberg also offer relaxation and enjoyment.
