Salzkammergut
Our trip into the Salzkammergut region with all its beautiful attractions could be described as a visit to the land of operetta. Even Kaiser Franz Josef and his family came here as visitors for their summer holidays. In the forests around Fuschl, the Prince Archbishops of Salzburg used to organise magnificent hunts. Now the former hunting lodge in Fuschl is occupied by an exclusive luxury hotel.
St. Gilgen on the Wolfgangsee is an interesting, picturesque place to visit. This is where the mother of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born.
In St. Wolfgang we show you the unique Gothic winged altar by Michael Pacher and the world-famous "Weiße Rößl am Wolfgangsee" (White Horse Inn), made famous by the operetta of the same name. We leave St. Wolfgang on board a boat and after an idyllic trip lasting about 25 minutes we land again in St. Gilgen.
You are also sure to find the legendary Krottensee lake and the Schloß Hüttenstein castle fascinating. The last place on our round trip is the Mondsee lake. Your excursion into the wonderful Salzkammergut is bound to be an unforgettable experience.
